WELCOME

Edit: I WAS CURED AFTER 22 YEARS! I had a vestibulectomy Dec. 2016. The recovery was easier for me than having sex ever was. It took about 5 weeks. I have included my recovery photos. Look for the blogpost "I'm Cured!" and "My Vestibulectomy".

I’m a great woman with a pissed-off vulva. I have “primary vestibulitis." Most people are uncomfortable discussing their genital pain in public. My hope is that my obsession to find help for myself will make your experience shorter, easier, and less painful. P.S. Recently "vestibulitis" has been renamed to "vestibulodynia."

More on Pelvic Anatomy

These are much more complex than the other two posts and may make your brain hurt. They focus on the muscles and fascia that sit above the pelvic diaphragm:

What is Your Pelvic Diaphragm? The "Sling Thing" They Always Talk About

If you have wondered what the "pelvic diaphragm" or "sling" that books refer to, here is a video by the same excellent youtube poster about nerves

Update: Men May Not See Gynecologists for Pelvic Pain

Update January 31, 2014
The decision to bar physical therapists from treating men has been reversed. Great news as men have their own forms of pelvic pain.

Original Post
On September 12, 2013 the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology made a changes to their definition of an ABOG-certified Obstetrician-Gynecologist.  Its members may not treat men for most illnesses. They will be meeting early January 2014 to discuss this issue again.

A major problem with this new 'definition' is that it does not make an exception allowing for Gynecologists to treat male patients who suffer from Pelvic Pain and/or Pudendal Nueralgia.

Just like for women, it is very difficult to find anyone with the knowledge to address pelvic pain. I think men should have the choice to consult with any resources that may help, including a gynecologist.

They are asking for 42 people as of this writing to sign the petition.
