WELCOME

Edit: I WAS CURED AFTER 22 YEARS! I had a vestibulectomy Dec. 2016. The recovery was easier for me than having sex ever was. It took about 5 weeks. I have included my recovery photos. Look for the blogpost "I'm Cured!" and "My Vestibulectomy".

I’m a great woman with a pissed-off vulva. I have “primary vestibulitis." Most people are uncomfortable discussing their genital pain in public. My hope is that my obsession to find help for myself will make your experience shorter, easier, and less painful. P.S. Recently "vestibulitis" has been renamed to "vestibulodynia."

Book Review of "Ending Female Pain"

I use many of the exercises from a great book called "Ending Female Pain: A Woman's Manual" by Isa Herrera. Many are part of my daily physical therapy exercises posted on youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O5EOzvnmID0

The book is for self-help with excellent diagrams and photos and focuses on exercises to relax and strengthen your pelvic floor. It has excellent explanations for what each exercise accomplishes. For example, for someone with chronically tight pelvic muscles, before you can Kegel to strengthen the pelvic floor, you need to learn to relax those muscles. If your muscles are so tight that they can't release and then contract fluidly, you can't develop strength and stability (and avoid incontinence). I use the relaxation exercises to reduce my nerve pain.

This book is really accessible, perhaps the best of my "library" of 12 books, and a worthy investment.

You Tube: Accessories for the Gal with Pelvic Pain

In the search for a peaceful body, I discuss my favorite massagers, cushions, and sacral belts on youtube:

Summary: the "Jeanie Rub", hemmorhoid donut cushion from the drugstore, and the "Serola belt" are my favorites.
